M5 : Lesson 9: Module 5 Summary

Transcript

Module 5 less than 9. The summary of module 5. This is just a quick summary of all of our learnings so far in this module. Somatic’s the bottom up approach to consciously send signals of safety to our body and help the body send signals of safety back up to the brain. Our body is scanning for threat or safety at all times.
This is your neuroception. We become aware of our body and our needs through interoceptive practices. Orienting helps us define safety and resource sourcing, both in our body and in our environment. And somatic movements repattern trauma and stress responses that are stuck in the body. They help with vascular fluid movements and help to improve our body’s ability to pendulate which allows more life force to flow through.
A summary of the tools that we have learned are The orienting tools, which were from lesson 3, we learned 1 environmental orienting, 2, dual awareness orienting. 3, internal orienting where we focused on our touch and felt sense. And 4, internal orienting again. Which was somatic tracking to help with pain reprocessing. And then we learned a series of movements.
We learned A few Hannah Semmatics movements, we learned the green light reflex, the red light reflex, and about the dark vice and how to do peniculation. We also learned the somatic squeeze and relax vascular pumping practice. The 5 Tibetan rights or the yoga detox, and high intensity interval training, which we covered in lesson 7. A few references for somatics that I really love Peter Levine. He’s got some great books.
He’s got amazing videos on YouTube. Please check him out. Thomas Hannah, that’s where I did my postgraduate semantics training with. He’s got a great book. Vessel Vandercock has amazing material, Gabor Mate, Kathy Kane, Janina Fisher, Pat Ogden, and Irene Lyon, and Stephen Porges and Deb Dana.
Up next, I have a short video to summarize all of your practices and go over what general daily routine would look like for everything you’ve learned so far on the regulate program.
